I am in the market for a 4 post lift. Does anyone have any recommendations advice or warnings? Or if you would care to share your experiences with a lift purchase and installation that would be great too.
Mine is a 15,000# 4 post with sliding tray and a strong air jack on the sliding tray. I can pick up the front of my truck with the air jack with no problems. Our smaller work trucks weigh 12,500 empty, and I wanted plenty of cushion, but the salesman told me that this brand is rated with a 50% cushion built in, because it wasn't "Chinese crap". Our very next truck we bought weighs 15,300 empty, so we put it on the lift and it lifted it just like it lifts my 7,000 truck. Nothing bends, squeaks, wiggles, or strains. I just lower the trucks slowly and smoothly so as not to shock anything. You don't want to drop it quickly then stop abruptly! That would put a lot of shock load on anything, and I don't want any problems, especially with $80,000 trucks on that lift!
Go to Greg Smith Equipment Sales Inc. - The lift professionals with quality automotive equipment at discount prices. for more info on lifts. It's very informative, although my lift was purchased locally. (trying to keep $$$ in my community when I can)
