My '06 3500 4x4 with auto trans has around 50k on the clock and runs fine. My question is that until recently, when I turned the dial to Four Wheel Lock, the four wheel drive light and the "Lock" light would illuminate. Now the "Lock" light does not illuminate. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is it a problem that should be addressed? How can I repair this myself?

First question is, does it go into 4wd? This system works by moving the switch, switch goes to the cluster (CCN) who tells the TIPM to shift the TC motor, mode position switch on the TC tells the TIPM when the shift is complete. So it could be as simple as a burned out bulb (could be LED in the cluster, requires repair), TC mode switch, wiring, or TIPM. If the shift completes the switches, wiring and sensor should be OK.

Thanks for the response. My transmission IS going into 4 wheel drive and the 4x4 light does illuminate. Is the burned out bulb/led a common issue? If it is only an indicator light, I will not lose any sleep over it. Has there ever been an article on the subject of the Ram electronic 4x4 mechanisms and wiring in the TDR? If so, and you know which issue to find it in, please let me know. Thanks again
