i am curious about the flange width on these truck, i want to know how wide the rear axle is at the wheel flange( where wheel meets brake rotor )

i want to convert to single wheels, and keep it narrow.

thanks in advance for your input

Were you wanting to swap out the front wheels also, or just lose the duals for super single rears? Ford 450-550 bolt pattern. I sure haven't seen anything that will work with the 10 lug hubs yet. Have you found an aftermarket wheel mfg that builds a super single for these yet?

You mention a narrow preference, but with the front fender flares and wide track front axle you may be spending big bucks for a very small overall track width difference. (meaning that the track width at the front of the truck may be wider than the super single wheels mounted on the rear track width)

i did find some wheels, the front will be changed too, however it is the rear i am most interested in, as i will be loading slide in truck campers in this truck, i do not want to have dually swing out juck brackets on every camper i load, as this will be used for delivery of this typr camper on a regular basis. thats why the pickup bed with single rear wheels.

There are a bunch of these trucks sitting here, that are made for the railroads that are all single wheels... and the wheels have an offset to allow the width of the tire to run the rail... . They have both Fords and Chevy's... ...

I've seen a lot of bread trucks with 19. 5" wheels that could run single wheels because of the light loads... . but they all have duals.....

I own an 08 5500 and run it a gross weight most of the time... . when its empty its so rough it knocks your teeth out... . what application would allow you to run a 5500 with single wheels. .
