Anyone see the TV show - "Modern Marvels - Pickup Trucks"

Humvee/Cummnis

This isn't the first time I've heard rumor of 4500/5500 trucks coming in DC's near future. I heard that they will have a MB engine and could possibly see a 2005 model year. Rumor ?? Maybe, but I've heard this twice from reliable sources.

Ya know what I would like to see, is a 4bt Cummins in a Durango 4x4. I would buy that in a heartbeat! It would outperform and outlast any SUV on the market (provided they get the transmission right), and it would have the Cummins name to go with it!

And they ought to put it in the Dakota also. Its just not the way it is done. Just like the 3500 was not available in Dark Garnet Red for 98. 5. Never mind that the bodys are the same. If you don't believe me look under:eek: Looks like they used a chain saw on a 2500:eek:  It's just the way they do it at that given time. Tee Tee on the customer:D

i'd be first in line.....

for the 4BT in a Dakota... for my WIFE!!!!!!! she loves my 2500 and i'd love to get her a 3500 but right now the price is a bit much... ... ... .

The only problem with that is the 3. 9B doesn't meet light duty emissions. It would have to be a 8600 gvw Durango.

A Durango would be great with a diesel. I think I heard awhile back that they were testing a Durango with a small Detroit Diesel V-6. Its too bad Dodge won't produce a tahoe or suburban size vechicle with the Cummins that would be sweet:eek: :D

Even if it is not a Cummins, that would still be better than anything else on the market!

I would think something of the Tahoe/Suburban's size just doesn't have the girth to support a Cummins... It may have to be Expeditionn size...

Maybe a Blazer/Tahoe(2dr) sized SUV with a 4BT in it? Woud you think that would be too weak? What are the hp/tq ratings for a 4BT?

I hope the Detroit would not be a two stroke. I don't think Dodge could get enough sound deadener in a Durango to make it livable inside.

well, DC killed the 4500 and up program last october. I had a friend who works for DC and was on that project, and the penny pinchers thought it wouldnt sell.
