Please forgive the run on sentences.

Due it have a worn out intermediate band (no 2nd gear) I had the 47re transmission rebuilt with upgraded TC, 2nd gear setup and other components by a local company noted for built towing automatics, (https://transmissiontucson.org/heavy-duty-billet-titan-transmission/) however the shop owner informed me they were unable to reconnect the front of the obsolete BD Diesel pressureloc device the previous owner added in 1999, due an issue with the BD linkage (see photo). I have yet to obtain an answer to my question why exactly it does not work other than it interferes now with the TV cable. He handed me the linkage and it appears ok to my blurry eyes. He said the truck is safe to tow down grades without the pressureloc device operating, however due to the attached vacuum lines I would disable the E-Brake if the pressure loc were simply removed. I have been driving (not towing) it for a week to perform the break-in required by the warranty and the e-brake retards the engine. I realize as is the pressureloc will not apply the additional 10 % pressure to aid the torque converter as intended, however would it be possible to get some feedback here on the TDR on whether the exhaust brake could still provide assistance to aid in controlling the vehicle on a decent with my old 8k Nomad trailer in tow?

btw, I have contacted BD Diesel Tech Support, they recommend an upgraded E-brake set.

Thanks

If your valve body is upgraded too, which I hope it is, then you don't need the PressureLoc anymore.
The PL is a simple Bandaid to help an OEM transmission to survive, as soon as the VB is upgraded it is obsolet and should be taken out entirely.
It has nothing to do with the E-Brake.

I understood that it should be able to be removed as well, however it appears based on BD Tech Support, the old E-brake is vacuum operated and the pressure loc is connected to the vacuum lines through a spool mounted on top of the intake horn. Also there is a BD Torqloc.

Yes the VB is a stage 2 unit from Tow Master.

High idle and transmission lock up so we could use x brakes . Increasing horsepower etc it was fun and a bit expensive BOMB Ed better off modified baby

With cooler weather now, I'm getting back to this project to completely remove the subject offending item. As is (disconnected from the transmission) it does not cause any issues. However the solenoid mounted up on top of the air intake is fastened together with the solenoid for the E-brake. So as one of the other contributors here cited I need to reroute the vacuum lines. While in there the E-Brake solenoid should be serviced.
