Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 47RE Band Adj. question

Anyone know what kind of socket fits that outside band adjuster ? The manual calls for a 5/16 and a wrench does fit, but, because the adjuster bolt is square, none of my sockets will fit, which prevents me from using that Miller C extention and torque wrench ? Is there a special socket available / Part # ?

But I don't see a Torx head on the square bolt, seems head is smooth. I will take another look.

IIRC, I used a 5/16" 8-point socket on mine.

5/16" band adjustment stud.

On my 47RE it was 5/16" square. I found a HUSKY tools 1/4" drive X 5/16" square "8 pt" socket that fit it perfectly. I tried all the other tools in my tool box and nothing else would work.

Thanks, I skipped that band adjustment. I'll look into an 8 pt socket to do when it warms up in the spring.
