The other day I noticed my transmission starting to slip. Shortly after that, I went to take off from a light and the truck wouldn't move. I limped into a parking lot and then towed the truck home. The slipping seems to come and go because I was able to get it in the backyard under it's own power. The fluid is full. I dropped the pan and there is no debris in the bottom of the pan or in the filter. I upgraded the governor pressure solenoid and transducer recently. I've never adjusted the bands and the TV cable has been missing for awhile. Could either of these be the source of my problem?

Did you check for codes? Could help in the troubleshooting..

I thought I read a post a while back missing the TV Cable or a grossly miss adjusted one could cause damage to the "front direct clutch" or maybe the rear clutch..... Or I really am just throwing out something that sounds super fancy..... so not at all trying to lead you down a road, just thinking out loud here.

Someone else might jump in and correct that for sure. Not wanting to miss lead you.

I got a TV cable from Pure Diesel if you don't have one. Just a thought, also the factory adjustment procedure is fine on those.

But yeah I think you might need that TV cable for 2-3 shifts or you can seriously damage the trans?

Did you try like the old shift into manual 1st or 2nd?

How about just reverse?

If I read the table correctly the rear band is used in R and 1st, the front band used in 2nd, includes Man-2nd. They are pretty critical to the operation of these units. Again most stock adjustments are fine don't have get real fancy with a stock trans.

That front clutch looks to be used in R, 3rd, and 4th, the rear clutch is like everything but R, so if I have my info backwards above and the lack of a TV Cable could damage the rear clutch, might be on to something.

Maybe you would have to check some actual pressures and the sort if no codes present, also can check on that Gov pressure transducer you installed. To see the feed back on that vs what the pressure gauge is telling you?
