Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 47RE transmission

hey guys,

I have a 96' CTD with the automatic transmission. I have been having transmission slippage issues with it. I dropped my pan last night and there was black looking, hard plastic pieces. They where very brittle. I'm not very familiar with the inside of a automatic transmission but what is this off of?? the clutch pack/ or bands??

Are you sure it is not a piece of a snap ring

No I'm sure it's not a snap ring. It's defiantly not metal. Quite a few pieces of black hard plastic pieces. One side of the piece is kinda shiny and the other side is dull.
