Competition Turbo Sleeve Question??

Competition Driveshaft loops

OK... . I had a group buy sort of thing on here earlier and had it deleted.

Something about site guidelines. I however dont know how many responses were there, or anything responded...

I'm keeping the vendor 'out of the loop' so he isn't bombarded with questions/e-mails. So the group buy on billet shafts has been kinda fubar'd.

SO I will do this different.

I will pose a question.

Will I have troubles with my RH output shaft? I have talked with the transmission builders (DTT, Dunrite, Goerend, ATS, Suncoast) and all of them except Suncoast say it will break if abused (25+ psi launches, sled pulling)

Joe (Suncoast) said he has heard of one breaking, but has never seen one.

All the others say it breaks where the shaft is cross-drilled for the governor.

Is it worth the effort to push an order through for billet output shaft or not? Is it 500 bones down the drain... or cheap insurance?

Any input you guys have i'd appreciate it.

If you responded to the post earlier, please keep it in PM's. I dont want this thread deleted due to solicitation.

Thanks

Mark

Word on the street is that the 47RH's have 'stronger' output shafts than the 47RE's ...

All I know is that when my DTT transmission went together, a billet output (or intermediate) shaft wasn't available.

Opie makes some sweet output shafts for the 47RE's...

Matt

I tell my customers to go with the billet input and intermediate for drag racing and sled pulling and leave the ouput alone on a 47 rh. Its fairly easy to just carry a spare and swap out the O/D. If you have to have a billet output shaft the only way i know how is to go with a full manual valve body and stick a 47 re O/D on the back. TCS in Canada and TCS in AZ and CA say there isn't enough demand to build the rh output shafts.

There isn't enough demand. But I am unbelievably convincing when I whine and cry... ...

The one I am thinking of will have the full auto capability.

Just wondering if it will be 'overkill'

I'm interested. . I've gotten the exact same responses that you have. Joe told me not to get the intermediate as well. .
