47RH Billet availibility?

Transmission Problem???

A guy can dream can't he lol.



DTT says no, just wondering since its sort of an oddball 2 year transmission if anybody took the time to R&D stuff for it.
 
i have a billet input shaft on my trans. i asked dtt for a billet output also and was told that they dont have them for the 47rh. i was told that the stock output in the 47rh was stronger then in the 47re.
 
Sun Coast has the billet input & hub, and the billet intermediate shaft for the 47RH (same as 47RE) . I have not seen the need on the billet output for the 47RH as the design of the OEM seems to make it a non-issue.

DTT has had the Input/Hub set-up as well as the Intermediate for a longtime now. Although I would say that you shouldn't need the intermediate as the output should break first. I have only seen one guy break one, I believe it was Strick-9. Too bad you didn't take the Input out of the other truck that you should. :(
 
Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah hindsight is 20/20 probably should have kept some stuff off the 01. Any idea why the output on the RH lasts longer? I've held both in my hands and it seems like the RH would break in the same place? At least through my inexperienced eyes.
 
If you notice the 47RE 4x shaft always breaks at the step where the OD is reduced for the splines. Any shaft will usually break where there is a sharp step whereas increasing the radius will help prevent this. The RH shaft has more radius in this area plus the extra length spreads the torsional deflection over a larger area.

When I ordered my ATS trans, they asked me if wanted the stage V upgrade which was a billet input (and I think output shaft) for $700 more than the stage IV setup. I'm not sure what other upgrades are available. Clint and Will were a great help to me when I was in need of a transmission. So far the trans is bad a$$ for my setup.
