Have a 12V swapped into a 96' 3500 with the 47RH. The previous owner installed a manual OD and TC lock up switch, by jumping the trans relay and then using two grounded toggle switches.
The cooler hard line broke, replaced it with a high pressure line and unfortunately lost the temp sensor. So somewhere along the line the trans got hot. When I dropped the pan the trans fluid was most definitely burnt with some black sludge.
Lost both the OD and TC lock up. They both worked intermittently for a while. I'm getting 12v to the pigtail center wire (grounded to each outer lead) when the switches are flipped.
I replaced the OD and TC solenoid, but I did not replace the wiring harness because I didn't want to drop the VB. Maybe I should go back in and swap it out?
All signs seem to point to burnt OD and TC clutches, but I just want to make sure it's not some type of grounding/electrical issue before I go that route. The truck was a swap and it's been an electrical nightmare.
Thoughts?
