Yes - both pans are the same. At least the bolt patterns are the same. I'm not sure if the 47RE's valvebody (solenoids) sticks down further than the 47RH...

I've seen some 47RH/RE pans in OEM form that were varying depth - keep that in mind.

Get it over with and buy an aftermarket cast aluminum pan. Sure, they're a bit spendy, but you only buy 'em once. I love my Mag-hytec pan...

The bolt patterns are the same but the early pans held about a qt less and will have a clearance issue in some cases with the filter.

Nope, I would say it won't go. The new pans are a bit wider for the RE VB's. Why would you put a smaller pan on an RE? Are you looking for clearance? I also tried a a B&M deep pan for a RH on my RE, it takes a bit of grinding on the VB to make it work. After mounting a MAG double on my 95 I think the regular one would do fine on a RH. The huge pan did not affect my temps, the stock RH pan is tiny though. The double deep hangs down more than I like on my 2wd. I love the drain and temp port on mine, plus it looks good.
