Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 47rh problem

Im having some problems with my transmission shifting and slipping. under full throttle it rev's to 2800rpm and hangs there for a while before it will finally shift from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to od. Under normal use i have to let it warm up for a long time or it wont shift and just feels like garbage. Once its warm its much better and some times perfect. but shifts late and sometimes when i take off feels like its slipping until I let off and get back on the gas. I tried adjusting the cable but just moving it one notch made it just about skip 1st gear altogether. I was told the transmission was just flushed and serviced before I bought it about a month ago. Its a 95 4x4 93000mi #8 plate and exhaust

Mine had a similar problem. It didn't like to shift from 2nd to 3rd. Sometimes it worked fine and sometimes I could drive what seemed like for miles before it would shift. Talked to my local transmission guru and he said I had a leaking front lip seal. It leaks pressure internally. He told me when it got to where it didn't want to go into reverse, get ready to do something. That started not much later. One night I sat in a parking lot trying to back out of a parking place for over 10 minutes waiting for reverse to engage. I couldn't afford a built transmission and just couldn't see going back to stock. I found a 5-speed and did the conversion.
