How? Got Transgo SK TF OD Diesel shift kit. Transgo does not play on second gear lock up. Their guy told me that some valve bodies allow 2nd LU, some do not, and Transgo has no information about doing this. I've seen one web site showing how to plug a passage with JBWeld.

I have a Trans Go in my 04.5
I'm sure there are diffs in my 48RE and your trans, but i have lock-up when i'm towing or if i pull my shifter in '2'
 
RE and RH (94-95) are not the same, as you had surmised. Yours is full electronic control (I have RE in a 96), the RH is hydraulic except for OD and lock up.
 
I would not recommend lockup in 2nd. Remember locked up is hard on any of the splined parts inside your trans. IE forward drum to input shaft. Both carriers in the trans and the OD carrier assy. The output shaft is splined also. With out anything billet and hardened I would stay away.
 
I'm the only driver, this one will not have locked shifts, used only to control temp when towing. And this engine is maybe 240 HP now, will never be over 300 so I'm not as concerned about using billet parts as someone who drags.
 
A better idea may be to check out B D productscweb site they haveca line pressure device that is a add on that does the same for towing
 
Stock VB in a 47 series will not allow TC lock in 1st or 2nd, you have to modify the VB to make it work. There are a couple ways to do it, JB weld or a modified part. Suggest calling Goerends to find out the best way to do it. Some of these mods have unintended results.

Actually, the 47 or 48RE is not full electronic either, all the shifts are still hydraulic except for OD. The only real difference in control is the RE uses wheel speed to electronically set gov pressure instead of a mechanical governor.
