So here's what I've got going on. I have a 1990 w250 4x4 that I did a boat load of changes to. I p-pumped it, twins, and changed out the transmission to a 47rh, which is fully built. I'm running into an issue with getting the transmission to work correctly. Because this truck didn't come with OD or Lock-up I have to find a controller that will make those work or use toggle switches which I don't really want to do. The first controller I bought I went through PATC and let me tell you WHAT A FLIPPIN JOKE!!!!!!! Their product didn't work correctly at all, and... ... . when I called to get support, Jim, the head Boss, was a total jackass. So I sent that back!! My advice, don't do business with them!!! So my issue now is who makes a controller or what can I use that will work!!! Please help me out, after all this work I'm so fed up with dealing with this and F***ed people!!!! Any solutions?? Thanks

First off, relax a little. We'll try to help you, but that's out of my league... . unless you want a manual transmission. :D

My first thought would be to call Gorend Transmission. I hear a lot of good things about that company, so much so, I would try them for an auto, if I ever need one. Also, there is a guy here on TDR, JohnBoy5, I think, that builds a controller, but it's used with the APPS. He might can help you if you PM him... . I don't know him, I've just read some of his posts..... there are others, where you at guys?!?!?

Also, have you considered pulling the loom and replacing all of it with a 93? What year 47 do you have?

You have an not unique situation in trying to upgrade an older vehicle and make it seamless. AFAIK, there is not a single source solution for what you want. Anything you do is going to be combination of things.

Since you have 2 things to control here you might want to concentrate on 1 then see how the other solutions will fit.

OD control - thats tough because it is electronic and requires 2 different inputs to control correctly, wheel speed and throttle position. I want to say Art Carr has something that might work from the gasser field, but, not positive and have never tried it.

Lockup control - The ATS commander will do what you want there but again it requires some inputs, TPS and VSS, to function correctly.

The only soultion I know of that is standalone and customizable uses a 47\48RE as base not the RH. ATS has a product and I believe Suncoast does also. What you will find is they are NOT cheap. Then again you tried the cheap route and thats what you got, less than expected results.

Any seamless solution is going to require a TPS and VSS signal and a processor to function correctly. Now it comes down to how much is it worth to have that as opposed to 2 switches. :)
