I am struggling here! I have tried two different reputable valve bodies no change.
Line pressure is 100psi
Gov pressure port is 0 in drive when it tries to take off in second with 100 psi auto meter gauge.
Replaced gov primary valve twice, now has the sonnax version in it.
Brass weight replacement is seemingly impossible with anything new so I have cleaned up my used ones by smoothing up all swedged or sharp edges and appears to work smooth in its home
I replaced the gov support in the rear case overdrive to hopefully catch a crossleak in the wear associated with this part. I know that there is someone out there that knows exactly what to do here! I couldn't be more frustrated! I would love help and greatly appreciate it!

I google the weights and see if anybhas them. If don't have one I get a shop manual from Genos.
Auto trans suppliers/ rebuilders mite have them.

Ok I have learned something new. My speed sensor went out and I had no overdrive! Thing is that the downshift into first went away completely!!! Then I replaced the speed sensor and back to second gear take offs. When the speed sensor is left unplugged it will downshift like it did when it was new, it's always in the correct gear. When the speed sensor is plugged back up it's a miserable driving truck, always in the wrong gear

Believe it or not I think I have finally found it. I have the trans back out but have not torn it down yet to be positive. I found a great trans guy that really knew this trans the 47rh in and out and he had me put a pressure gauge on the OD port on the driver side , the only port or the driver side and said it should read 0 except in OD. Well it didn't read 0 it read like 35psi in drive sitting still. Then after shifting into OD and then back off it would have over 50psi. His analysis is that the tiny little restriction oriface in the OD piston retainer has probably been blown out with compressed air hose and without that restriction the pressure behind the piston can't release. It's there to keep enough atf there to reduce the time the shift would occur but without that screeen restrictor in place it would be to high and that would keep OD applied. I will let you know if it turns out to be just that
