48 RE temp ?

I just put a trans temp gauge in an 06 48RE. Normal driving on interstate it runs about 140 degrees. If he's in town and doing a lot of stop and go with moderate accel. it can go as high as 175. Are these normal? He hasn't pulled with it yet. I put a Geno's Acu Temp Adapter on the hot line going to the cooler and was just checking to see if it works correctly. Thanks.

Those sound like good numbers to me, just make sure you are on the "hot" line to the cooler not the "cold" line. I believe that trans fluids are good up to about 220deg F before they break down so that may be the magical number to watch our for.

Any experts out there know what the max temp recommended for Dodge's ATF is?
