I am dropping my pan today and changing the filter, but before I do, are the screws holding the filter of the everyday variety? I would like to know before I drop the pan and find I need to get a special tool to complete the job. Thanks! Tom.

They are t-25 torx screws. Do not over tighten them or you will strip the VB.

Thanks Richard, that is what I needed to know. I do have a Proto inch lb torque wrench, and the service manual says 35 in lbs, but I just needed to know what type screw held the filter so I would not be stuck w/o the correct tip after draining and pulling the pan. I just could not find that info anywhere, and figured I could find someone here that would know. Oo.

Thanks! Tom.
