I've been having problems with 1-2 shuttle shift and no TC lockup. I cured the 1-2 shuttle by adjusting my TV cable, in diagnosing my "no TC lockup", Bill(DTT) asked me to install a lockup switch.

I purchased two toggle switches and two 10 ohm resitors, I will tap into #6(3-4) and #7(tc lock) and will install these in the next couple of days.

While under my truck doing a "preview", I noticed the usual drips of fluid on my DD transmission pan. I attributed the drips to the o-ring gasket (been told they leak and I should replace with a "standard" gasket). After locating the correct electrical plug for the chore at hand, I noticed this also is covered in fluid and it appears to be seeping out from around the front band adjustment locknut and stud. I wiped this all dry, and when I got back from the store it was again wet around the adjustment nut...

Any ideas why this may be leaking? Something internal causing my TC lockup problems and this? (FYI about 6 yrs but only 16k since DTT upgrade).

Thanks, Jess

Lossen the jam nut not disrupting the adjustment screw. Put a dab of sealant around the base of the adjustment screw threads and then tighten the jam nut back up.

As for the Mag-Hytec DD transmission pan, no reason you cant use the oem gasket.

JJPage,

Did this work? Mine just started leaking at this location. 1st I tightened the lock nut just a bit more thinking that would do it but it didn't help. Then I thought about completely removing adjustment screw and adding thread sealant to the threads but decided against it since not quite sure if completely removing screw would mess something up inside transmission.

What type of sealant did you end up using?

Thank you, rupert.

If you remove the screw the anchor and or strut that holds the band can fall into the pan. The nut has a fiber/plastic face which is supposed to be the seal. You can replace the nut but be sure and hold the screw from turning in or out. Any transmission shop should have the nut. bg

thanks for the quick reply! i'll definitely leave the screw where it is. i think i'll try a o-ring and a "dab" of rtv then reinstall lock nut, all while keeping my fingers crossed... .

Thank again, rupert
