48RE Fluid Replacement

I want to perform the fluid replacement by disconnecting a fluid line and connecting a hose running to drain pan. Somewhere here I found the instructions for this, but I cannot locate them now. I need to know the procedure so I don't starve the pump and which line to disconnect (the upper line I assume). Thanks for any input. By the way is Mopar ATF+4 a synthetic fluid? If so, wonder if Valvoline full synthetic ATF+4 comes from the same factory?
