48re low rpm drone dealer solution

The dealer has decided to put a new transfer case in my truck to take care of the whirling noise that is produced at 20 mph. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem. Truck has 5200 mi.

Did this noise sound kind like a quiet PTO noise. My truck has the drone noise and vibration at 60+ MPH. It also has a noise when you are coasting around 20 mph that sound like a really quiet pto driveshaft noise. I had a tough time getting the mechanic at the dealership to hear it. I can hear it just fine but they had trouble:kinda a whup whup whup noise but pretty quiet. The noise goes up and down with vehicle speed. I think that noise and my vibration are related. Did the t case change fix any vibration or other problems???????

The drone was only at 20 mph with no vibration at all. It usually was associated with cold temps. It was a whirling sound that lasted a short time at 20 mph on accel. and decel. The new case was just ordered today. So haven't field tested the new one yet.

I have a drone around the same mph in cold temps. It goes away after a couple of miles and only on acceleration. Let us know if the new case fixes it.

I think I have the same noise. I cant tell if it is coming from directly beneath me or behind me!! But I have a 47RE. But you are the 1st person who the dealer has offered a fix for this noise. My LOCAL . 5 STAR DEALER said it was the Turbo. I forgot to explain to him THE TURBO IS IN THE FRONT ON THE ENGINE. Like you i also only hear this noise when the temp. is below 50 F!! Please let us know if it fixes the problem.
