Hi Guys,

I've got an '05 with the 48RE and I'm getting a weird issue mostly when in stop&go and zooting around parking lots. If I get on the gas HARD, and then get out of the gas and right onto the brakes, it feels like the truck/transmission is still trying to go, and I can feel it in the brakes like I'm fighting the transmission. It lasts for 1-1. 5 seconds and feels like you're not going to stop in time, very hair-raising until it fades off. My '99 with 47RE didn't do this. Ideas?

Same on the nv5600s. Engine revs are held up somewhat. Takes ENGINE a second or so to slow. On the manual trans trucks same deal between shifts. You'll get use to it. 47re and 99 models is a totaly differant truck.

Mine does it also, I have gotten used to it and now I don't try to get big power in small places. There always seems to be a trade-off with these trucks. Still I wouldn't trade my truck for anything. :D

This is a feature of the drive by wire engines. . designed for low emissions. Gassers had this years ago in some cases. The computer prevents you getting into or out of the fuel too fast.

Any idea what causes it?

It's the turbo building up RPM so they have to let it down easy to prevent barking. That's why they don't cut off the fuel right away. A fully revved up turbo produces about 100 hp by itself for a second or two, so it wants to push on the pistons like a big air pump. If they put a blow-off (sneeze) valve on it like race cars, they could cut the power off right away.
