Got under truck to change engine oil. Saw that auto trans oil pan was wet with red looking oil. Drops are hanging on some of the bolts. The truck has 11,000 miles. I checked trans oil and its at the min mark. I was going to get trans fluid from auto parts store, add some then check when I get to work tomorrow, then stop at dealer on my way home. Trouble is it seems the only oil (ATF+4)

can only be bought from dealer which is not open on Sunday. Does anyone know if there is a substitute brand that I can safely add to the factory Mopar ATF+4.

You can "top off" with ANY Dexron or ATF Type 1,2,3 or 4 for short

urgent situations, IE to top off as to avoid trans damage until you get to a quailfied service center. I would advise getting to a dealer or garage as SOON as humanly possible to have the leake corrected. Also advise you service writer that you "topped" off with "X" type fluid so as to be able to drive the vehicle in for service. That way, if the leak deosn't require the pan to be pulled, they will pull it to drain the fluid and replace it with ATF +4.

May be gas, but pulls like a Diesel!
