Sorry if this has been answered before but I did search and could not find the exact situation.
Truck is now my part time veh for towing 5th wheel, weekend duties. Running 255s which are about 32 3/4 tall, Smarty Jr on level 1, compensated for tire height.

I recently (in the last month) noticed it shifts 2,3,4 and into TC lockup too soon under light throttle. like 4th at 35mph and TC lock at 43mph. I seem to remember hitting 4th in the low 40s mph and TC lockup at 48 mph. Feels boggy with the lower engine rpm.

2004.5 with 48RE. 166k. No frills rebuild at about 130k.
DNJ housing, hd governor pressure solenoid
at about 140k, I added:
Pacbrake PRXB.
Trans go shift kit
Billet front servo/accumulator
Heavy duty strut
Kept existing 5.0 lever
Billet band anchor
Slip in band

I probably have 36k on the governor pressure solenoid and transducer. Would that be a good place to start?

Mine does the same with Smarty JR on Lv.#1 - Eco Tune.
I like it!

If you not switch Smarty to #2 - Tow. There it don't does it.

I know that because I have driven it for 3 years on #2 Tow and switched to #1 recently just out of curiosity.

Thanks Ozzy. Will try it. I had the Jr. on level 1 to be conservative but level 2 is easier to tow. I may have to play around with the Smarty Jr. on the trip due to the occasional injector rattle under load.

I bought my Smarty at BD Abbottsford an the Guy there told me that #1&2 is safe for my transmission but I shouldn't use #3 because that will shorten the trannys life significant if it isn't used responsibly.
Well I like to step on it so I follows that advice.
I have no rattle on #2.
