Going to be doing my shift kit and various other upgrades with the pan and vb out. I am wanting to install a front band while I'm at it since there's not alot of adjustment left.
Can anyone recommend a decent option for a slip in band?
Any chance you'd be willing to share your thoughts on any of them, either here, or in a PM? I'm having trouble even finding one from a reputable site, let along multiple to compare.
The company only does Transmission, nothing else, and this one is the more expensive variation of the two they sell.
And 4 people are happy with it, which is many for not being Amazon.
You have to figure out how to get the old band out of the transmission.
Either you cut it or you chisel up the spot welds on the bracket.
I think that was the one I saw before, I'll give it a look again. I've read that you can tin snip the old band once you loosen the adjustment and remove everything but I haven't opened mine up yet so we shall see.
Is there a downside to using the slip in band?
No downside, if it works it does, if it fails your at the same point as before and disassembly awaits.
I don't see why it should fail. The only difference to a standard band is the low profile anchor on one side.
