48re sonnax billet accumulator

In the process of installing my superior shift kit in my 48re. Truck is a 2006 2500.
I purchased the sonnax billet accumulator piston kit (22841-04k) to install. The shift kit instructions show two springs going in with the accumulator, a smaller diameter spring supplied with the kit going above the accumulator piston and a larger diameter spring going between the piston and the valve body. The larger diameter spring was not present upon disassembly and one is not provided with the kit. Is this model/year dependent and maybe wasn't installed in mine or is this the case of someone previously leaving it out so I need to source a replacement?
Can anyone advise?

Yes, if it is there you reinstall it, if not then you proceed without.
The TransGo Kits specifically note that in their install instructions.
Seems that Superior don't mention that fact that some Transmission have that spring and others lack it.

Mine had the smaller diameter spring (upper spring in your image) and the superior kit supplies a replacement. The spring I'm missing is the larger diameter one labeled lower plain spring in your image.
Based on this, am I correct in assuming that I need to source a replacement?
If so, do you (or anyone else reading) have a part number to save me some searching?
I was very much hoping to get this thing buttoned up today since I'm back to work tomorrow.

Yes the lower one is important, this is also the one the is known to break occasionally. Maybe somebody had that thing open in the past then.

Also some people take that spring out on purpose for a firmer 1-2 shift.

Sorry, just to clarify, are you saying some people take out the lower one that I am missing in order to get a firmer 1-2 shift, or remove the smaller diameter upper spring for a firmer 1-2 shift?
If leaving out the lower, larger diameter spring (which I'm missing) simply results in a firmer 1-2, then that wouldn't hurt my feelings as long as it won't damage anything else.
I'm 100% certain someone has been in this before since it was rebuilt shortly prior to me purchasing, unfortunately no paperwork was provided.

Yes, they take out the one your missing, as the other one is optional anyways.

The one that breaks sometimes that I mentioned is the 3-4 accumulater spring.
