48RE Thrust Washer

Just a quick question. Does the latest 48RE still have a thrust washer wear problem? I know it was a problem in the earlier 48RE and was wondering if they ever fixed it?

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I had mine out after 22'000 miles. Looked OK

They wer put in sometime in the 04. 5's still trying to get a build date. The washer is really needed for the exhaust brake due to the reverse torque and since you have an 05 "no exhaust brake for either"
