A while back I posted about problems I was having with my transmission after getting the 30,000 mile service done. The transmission would occasionally shudder and buck when starting at speeds of about 15 to 20 mph. Sometimes when starting from a stop the vehicle would move sluggishly or not at all unless I backed off the throttle. The vehicle was taken to the local Dodge dealership on three occasions for this problem. They could never duplicate the problem, other than the sluggish acceleration (it felt like the torque converter was slipping badly). The "transmission tech" said that was normal. I advised them that it never did that until the servicing and it didn't seem to matter. This was all done prior to the 36,000 mile warranty expiration period.
I finally took the truck to Tom Edwards Dodge in Bartow, Florida at the 39,000mile mark. They quickly diagnosed the problem. They replaced a transducer pressure switch, solenoid and filter valve. They advised that there was a TSB addressing those problems. The transmission now shifts better than when brand new! I was glad that I had the 7/70 warranty on my 05. It still cost me a $100. 00 deductible. However, Tom Edwards gave me the name and phone number of the regional rep for assistance in getting that money back. The other three trips to the dealer for the repair were all documented. Several people offered assistance with the problem when I first posted and I apprciated their time and effort. Three quarters of the mileage on this vehicle has been towing heavy fifth wheel. The transmission was flawless until that servicing. I don't know if that had anything to do with the problem. However, I am going to drive this transmission until it fails. If I am out of warranty, I will exchange for a "built" unit. Now, I am again 100% satisfied with my Dodge!
