48re Transmission

I read John Holmes' "Ranch Dressing" article in issue 41 of the TDR. I respect Mr. Holmes' opinions and comments about the 48RE transmission, but would like to know if anyone else has had problems with this unit. Also, what has been done to fix and improve it. Thanks for your input.

Grab a cool one and do a search on 48re and you will have plenty of info that has already been posted. I have the 48re and with the 5k miles I've put on mine I'm very pleased. 1400 miles was towing @ 14k lbs.



I miss my E-Brake from the 99 though.
