What are typical transmission mods necessary to get the 48RE up to handling the power gains of, say for example, the TST Lvl 9/9?

Are TC and VB going to be all that is necessary? If so, what brand is recommended? Costs? Those with experience please share your knowledge.

Thanks.

I dont think a TC and VB will be enough to handle all of the TST. I think you will have to go with billet shafts, and updated internall clutches. TC and VB will be good to about 450 hp or so. The high torque from the TST I bet would wipe out the shafts eventually. You will be looking at about 3k plus labor. DTT, ATS, or Suncoast.

I did an ATS-TLTC, Valve body and billet input for $2450. Didn't include labor. Not sure what that was because there was other work done too. Just an FYI that input shaft is $750+.

But it's nice having a little piece of mine knowing what mods are done adn what's coming.

Budget for $5000 and if you want billet input and output shafts those are $700+ a piece so add another $1500 for the HD shafts.
