6-Liter startup

so you think ford builds a better truck read these!

Was wondering if the smaller sibling has the same KDP problem. Since parts interchangeability is high between the two engines it seems reasonable that the gear case and offending dowel pin would be the same as the B5. 9. Anyone have any experience with or knowledge of actual KDP incidents with the 4B, either catastrophic or the pin part way out? I know there are lots of these engines in industrial applications and thought that if the KDP problem existed in the 4B then I could pick up some winter work using the jig I bought from CPFF.

well, all of the 4B's I've seen had the VE pump on them... on the dodges, I think the trucks that were most prone to KDP failure were the 2nd gens w/ the weight of the big P pump hanging off of them.

BUT, I've heard of a few KDP failures on 1st gen trucks, so if I ever did a 4Bt swap, I'd certainly tab the KDP before I installed the engine!
