2003 Cummins Motors

I did a search and nothing came up. Has anyone done a 4B into a 2WD Dodge Dakota?

Strange, I found 55 threads for "Dakota" under Cummins/Diesel Conversion.

Its been done before. A very tight fit.

There is a very old thread with some of the specifics. The fellow that did the conversion subscribes to the 4bt list in my sig, IIRC his name is Jonathon Emery(aka jemery on the board). A great fella.

These threads have some pictures:

Keep searching, there is more out there...

Thanks, Willys. I realized that that truck is smaller than my Durango though similar, so I gave a look. I don't think it would be a real good swap. I think the front end is too dainty and there is the height issue.

I'm trying to help a friend who is tempted to do a project and it was his idea to look at a dak since there was one available. I'm trying to sway him towards a 150 ram shortbed or a Jeep CJ/ 4BT conversion. Thanks for the mailing list.

I was going to try a Dakota. Then I figured it was going to be a 2x4 then I went to my Ram 150 shortbed Prospector and was able to drop the engine into a 4X4 without any mods to suspension or cross members or oil pan. My shortbed truck weighs about 4,900 lbs with the 4BT in it. Search for the thread "4BT final adjustment" and you can see how it fit in a Ram 150.
