I dunno if I'd run an auto at a constant angle or not but...



Swapping that adapter to one off a ISB should be a bolt up propsition. then you could use a getrag, nv4500, 5600, 727, 48rh, or 48re if you have the expertise.

engine adapter plates

Based on two of my conversions, 4bta/getrag and 6bta/getrag the engine adapter plate, starter, and flywheel changed in 1994. If a getrag is used, you will need the early stuff... i have no knowledge about the autos.

Id run the Th400,unlesss he needed an OD. The 400 is a nice auto.

Snowman has a point... if its good enough for a hummer. I didn't manage to destroy one in the military and God knows I tried.

I wouldn't think that the trans would care as long as it gets oil circulation.

I got a little freaked out when I realized there was a 7* tilt on that adaptor. It took me a little while to calm down. I ended up splitting the difference between engine tilt and transmission tilt. No one ever notices and it all works fine.

Sure you can run it at a tilt. That is how they are run in the step vans. They don't have a problem there.
