I think that it would depend on what adapter you have... if it is a GM adapter then most likely not, but I think I would just find the correct adapter for your trans. I would guess that your trans is the same bolt patern and a version of the same trans that is normally behind a 6BT... so that would be the adapter to look for.
The bellhousing bolt pattern is different on the gas trucks. Find the diesel trans and your electronics should work. I've checked into it cuz I wanna do it myself... sometime... next winter... I think!!
The adapter/ plate supplied with the cummins for dodge won't work with the gas v-8 trans. You will need to use a diesel or V-10 auto. Or make an adapter ( have someone make ) to mate them.
