Folks, I have been trying to figure out if I can make an auto trany from a 6BT Dodge, works as well behind a 4BT. I have a couple great engine candidates for my Scout II conversion and really prefer the auto. The biggest problem seems to be how to run the transmission. The 4BT obviously doesn't have a TPS and Ibelive the 618 has the speed sensor in the tailshaft. Can one from a 6BT work? A stand alone controller might be the answer, but I am looking to keep costs below the 1 Million dollar range! A lock up converter would be nice, any thoughts on how the torque curves vary between the First Gens and a bombed 4BT might compare? Anyone nutty enought to have explored this type of conversion, or just some one who know mucho about the stuff, please chime in! I think it would make a slick rig! Scott PS I would consider any type of auto out there, legnth is a consideration and an OD is a must! I plan on bobming the 4BT to what Lou Chiu has in his p7100 rig, about 165HP and 475ft lbs torque
