Is there any advantage to a 4,000 GSK with an auto? When do you use those RPM's? I am sure I have the fuel when I let my auto do the shifting... ... ... ... around 3,000rpm with my 3K GSK. I can hit 34-3500 rpm now.

A 4kgsk will be stronger above 3k. But you will only see it if you hold back your autos shifting.

I've been running the 3K kit in my 95. I just got the baby springs to make the transition to a 4K kit. When I ordered the baby springs I was told I had to buy the heavier exhaust and intake springs. I'm wondering what you all think. I have a DTT auto and TC, #10 plate, ect. ect. I decided on the 4K because I understand its just a better way to go if you have the 165 pump. I am experiencing the low RPM flutter or hesitation and just can't get this to run to my satisfaction since getting the 3K spring kit. What are your thoughts about needing the exhaust (I can see this one) and the Intake (not sure why they are needed) heavy springs? Thanks

Like SEmerson stated, no advantage unless you don't let it upshift. I have another question: is an auto pulling past 3,400 RPM quicker than one that is upshifting? Sounds like a test to be done with a stop watch to be sure.

You absolutely must change intake and exhaust springs or you might introduce the valves to the pistons. If you do, they will both be sore.

Your spring retainers should be set at 2 clicks (+/-1 click) after pushing on the springs. Try 2 clicks (the measureing method isn't effective because you are changing the springs!) and if that doesn't cure it try 3 then 1.

If you have a 4kgsk you really have to put in heavier valve springs. At 3. 6k stock spring will float. If thay float too far you could smack the valves on the pistons. The odds are that even if you watch you rpm that a missed shift or some one else will over rev it some day. Plus v springs are better for a e brake if you add one later.
