Competition Anybody going to Canfield the 24th?

Competition what would it take to hit 130 mph w/in 1 mile

Trucks finally done, gonna get to my first pull in a week. Trucks built for pulling, EEP twin disk clutch, plenty of power. Will it be possibly to launch at 4200-4400 rpm @ 25psi in 4th gear low range with 5 speed and 305/70/16's Goodyear MTR's, 3. 73 gears, or is this a bad combo? Sled should be set light, pulling in a 6200lb street class. Thanks for help.

You should be able to do it,but it depends on the track too,dry & loose easy ,moist clay that grips you might bog.

But just be ready to stop before 75' & you can drop to 3rd & retry.

Is that a rule? If you stop before 75', you get to re-try? Never pulled before, so I don't know.

Yes,most of the pulls I've been at have that rule. Your allowed to do it once they'll unhook you backup & rehook. When you go to a pull they have a drivers meeting don't miss it they will cover all the details. I also like to put a 4x4" block between the axle & bumpstop the stop wheelhop which is hard on the truck & will shoten your pull & use tarp straps to hold them.

Also air down your front tires to 20-25 lbs helps too.

I'd try 2nd high first. You might be surprised, 4low is a big gear. Depends alot on your tires and track. 6200 street class?? How hot are these street trucks? I use to love running 6500 gas street stock. They don't like getting beat by diesels, so they banned them.
