4th gen 2wd upper control arms

I may have missed this posting and have tried searching but wasn't very successful in finding what I need.

How hard is it to change out the upper control arms on our 4th gen trucks? I had a shop do the lower because I had a broken arm at the time I needed them.

I have most the tools I need and the control arms already just have to get the spring compressor from AutoZone or oriellys. Looking for specs and torque values and any tips or tricks.

I have never used a spring compressor to perform that task.If you are doing it on the floor,a floor jack and jack stands will get it done.

Raise and support the vehicle.


Remove wheel and tire assembly.


Remove the disc brake caliper adapter with the caliper (Refer to 05 - Brakes, Base/Hydraulic/Mechanical/ADAPTER, Disc Brake Caliper/Removal) .


Remove the rotor.


Remove the wheel speed sensor wire from the upper control arm.


Remove the nut from upper ball joint (4).

CAUTION:
When installing Remover (5) to separate the ball joint, be careful not to damage the ball joint seal.
