Are the 4th gen cab lights smoked or clear? Are those the same size and mounting as late 2nd gen and 3rd gen trucks?? Where are the screws, on the sides or front and back? Is the stock lighting LED?

I replaced my 2001 orange lenses with clear ones from RECON with built in amber LED lamps, but those are basically junk, poor design that ingests water since they are a two piece design that has poor sealing between the lens and base, I am hoping these new 4th gen cab lights might be a good retrofit??? Amber 194 LED bulbs are easy to source, so really a good clear/smoked OEM style lens is all that is needed.

Going to answer my own questions here and start a new thread in the 2nd gen section, but would be applicable to 3rd gen trucks too.

The cab lights on the 2010's are a clear translucent color, not crystal clear and not what I would call smoked either.

I ordered one and it appears to be the same as the 3rd gen ones (except the color) with the screws front and rear, rather than on the sides like my 2001 came with, other than that, should fit ALL 2nd-4th gen trucks, although if you originally had the style with side screws it will require drilling those two small holes.

Otherwise a complete plug and play with my 2001, the 2010's I believe come with a 194NA (amber) bulb, only a guess on my part, BUT I don't think they have LED's in them from the factory.

I installed an LED in mine, will be ordering four more lens assemblies and LED lamps and getting rid of the leak prone RECON units.

All total, this will cost about $20 more than buying the RECON kit (from online sources, not the dealer MSRP), but in my opinion is far superior. If you don't already have cab lights then you might want to consider that my do it yourself way DOESN'T include the wiring etc. , so the cost would be quite a bit higher than the RECON kits.
