4th Gen Side Steps on 2006 2500

Has anyone installed the 4th gen rectangular side steps on a 3rd gen truck? Just curious if the retrofit would be a pain as I have an opportunity to get some 4th gen takeoffs for real cheap. Thanks!

The way they mount is different the 06 has cut outs in the rocker for an oblong nut plate to slide in a cut out the 4th gen mounts with rivnuts with a hex hole punched into the rocker. Both also have bolts through the pinch weld as I recall. I can't tell you if the angles are the same. If the price is right give it a shot
