4th gen wheels on a 2nd gen ram

Just wanted to update yall on my wheel upgrade. Have not seen many folks spring for 4th gen wheels for our 2nd gens. Most people will do 3rd gen wheels but I couldn't pass up this set of 4th gens for $150! I'd like a larger tire but tow a 5th wheel so I stayed with 265's but I still think they look as good as 3rd gen. What's the opinion here? Best part is that I can upgrade brakes now!

Those look sharp. I ran 3rd gen wheels on my 97 but that was before 4th gens existed...

How does your 99 tow your 5er? Just loosely browsing and thinking of upgrading from my 28' to something with bunks and they are typically a bit longer.

With the Edge Comp and the DTT trans update it works well. Without the Comp it was a real struggle. If on flat ground or minor grades stock is probably ok but the added timing/fueling makes it a lot nicer. The rear gears in mine are 3:54 so 4:11's may make a big difference if you could tolerate the higher RPM's.

I'm pulling with edge ez and rv275s and it does great with my camper. Not sure how it would do with something heavier. what is your camper empty weight? Mine is 8300lbs. empty

I would have to find the picture of the tag as the tag died years ago from the Az. Sun. I believe it is 8k lbs. but I would imagine we are pretty heavy now that we are full time. I would think with your EZ and injectors you would do fine.

I ran the same wheels on my 98. I wanted the OEM 18"s (what's on my truck now), better weight capacity and a broader selection of sizes. But the center bore of the wheels are smaller than the hub on the rear of the truck, .and would require a spacer to bolt them up. That was a deal breaker for me.
