4wd issues

just got a 2008 ram 2500 4wd 6.7 c 6 speed auto

the electric shift motor is working can shift to 4wd an 4wd low but the front end does not engage
read some where that it could be the a/c pressure switch
1. how would you test the pressure switch is it normanly open or normanly closed
2. what else could cause it not to engage the front end

Ithink you should go back and re-examine your symptoms,your front axle does not have any formof limited slip.The axle may well be working normal even if for example you don't see one front tire spinning while engaged in 4wd

no front tires spinning i even got in some mud to make sure dam near had to be pulled out

Has the truck been converted over to free spin hubs and just not locked in??

Put it in 4wd and shut off the truck. Crawl underneath and try to turn the front driveshaft. If you can, the t case isn't in 4wd. If you can't and stil don't drive the front tires you need to pull the front diff cover and look around.

Won't work on that year, no axle disconnect. Need to jack one wheel off the ground to perform this test.

If the case is in 4wd, trans in neutral you can't spin the front shaft with the wheels on the ground because the front end is locked to the rear, cad or no cad. If the shaft spins it's not locked in 4 WD at the case.
