My 4wd endgaged light won't go off. it is in 2wd. Is this just a bad sencer or what?? And is the sencer on top of the trans fer case or where?? Thanks for the help Justin

PS: See all the first gens at thunder, you will see me loud, and proud and a smoking HahahahahahaOo.

Maybe the switch is sticking. It should be on top of the case near the shift rails with one wire going to it. The only other wiring to the case should be the speedo sensor on the output of the case.

You could pull the connector off the switch and see if the light goes out. If so, it is the switch. If not, the wire is shorted to ground somewhere between the switch and the light. Hope this helps.

It may also be a vacuum problem. I had that happen to me once, the steel line from the front axle disconnect back had rubbed a hole in itself and light would stay on.

CT, we're talking first gens here. Our old trucks don't have vacuum systems involved in the 4WD. Just good old-fashioned part time system with lock out hubs. :)

jiggle the handle.....

If it was a toilet I would tell you to jiggle the handle!:)

In all seriousness..... The handle position on mine is pretty touchy to location. I have to sometimes 'wiggle' it back & forth to find the sweet spot for the light to go out even though I know I'm back in 2WD!

How's that for my most technical posting ever?:):D:)

KEENO:)

PS: If that doesn't work... . Install a vacuum pod and get rid of those "Girlie Man" Manual Hubs!

I really like "JFitzgerald's" answer best!

Jiggle the handle... . Like you haven't already thought of that!

Really... . I'm just trying to get most count up!:D

KEENO:D
