I did a search on this but found nothing. It only rattles at a certain rpm range,i usually just turn up the radio, but it's time to fix this annoyance. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
 
AH HA!! I know I know!! Before you do like me and get ready to check linkages - just pop the decal out of the knob and tighten the hex bolt threaded to the shifter rod that's hidden underneath!!! The bolt rattles in the cavity under the decal plate at certain vibrations!!

The noise I experienced and commented on came from the locknut inside the transfer case shifter knob 2WD = no t-case, your signature shows A/T so no transmission knob…so I'm not sure! I've never had a buzz from my 47RE
 
Thanks for the help guys. And thanks for the links Driftwood. I bent the tab out and it fixed the noise.
 
I can't take credit for this fix, DTT did it for me. It did completely solve my rattle. Attached is a pic of a carburetor spring to hold the lever from rattling. The first pic is of the entire spring. You can see one end of the spring attached to the frame (on the right side of the pic) and the other to the bottom of the shifter linkage (on the left side of the pic). The second pic shows the spring attached to the shifter linkage. There is a hole in the bottom corner of the linkage that was used to attach the spring.
