I finally got the GV OD installed on my '97 5 speed. It wasn't easy Everything is up and running EXCEPT for the wire to the "4wd engaged" switch on the transfer case. This apparently grounds out the OD so it cannot be engaged when 4wd is being used. There are lots of wires going to and over the transfer case, but I wasn't sure what the switch looked like or where it was. Can anyone explain/describe where it is. Thanks PS I sure love the the extra gears, such as 3rd OD and 4th OD. Got to hook up the "no OD in 4wd" before I do something real stupid (and costly). Thanks

MM, not sure of '97s,but on my '95s the 4wd engaged switch is on the passenger side of the front axle with the vacuum shifter. Yours is probably the same.

Mopar Man,
illflem is right there, front axle. Where the vacuum activates the shift motor and shift fork engages the two axles.
As the shift fork engages the two axles it pushes against a switch (for 4-wheel drive light switch) which sends a ground to the instrument panel but stops for a coffee break at the ABS/RWAL module first(to let the abs know the truck is in four wheel drive and not to activate).
The wire starts at shift fork switch and goes over to and under battery tray then past the PDC to the ABS module.

Thanks guys. The front axle is the last place I would have looked, but it makes sense. Will hook it up before the weekend is over. (Now I know why the kit had such a long wire for this hook up)
