I'm looking for a replacement frame for my 93 extended cab, 4x4 Diesel. As I look for a frame, do any of you know if the frame from a gas engine truck is the same ? Or do I have to stay away completely from that configuration ?
I'm located on Cape Cod, if any of you know where I might find one, please let me know. Thanks - Kyle T.

I *think* the frame for the 4x4 was specific to the diesel in width on the C channel. That said, if you weld boxing the frame in a few choice places would help a lot.

You can put diesel crossmembers in a gas !! So my thinking they are the same id stay away from 1/2 ton frames id go with a 1 ton frame

Thanks Guys - two additional questions, 2WD vs. 4WD - does anyone know the differences in the frames and are there any sources for the frame dimensions ?

If your up for the task you can install 4x4 crossmember ans spring hangers onto the 2wd that is the only difference

from another post I made on a site asking about frames

I just went and measured 5 trucks > 2 wheel drive
@ front cab mount area
90 CTD / 5 speed, Reg cab @ 6" > 8' bed
91 CTD/ auto, club cab @ 7" > 8' bed
92 CTD / 5-speed, club cab @ 8" > Dually bed
92 CTD/ 5 speed, Reg cab @ 8" . 11' flat bed
73 car Hauler, converted to CTD, 5 speed @ 7"
I found the difference while using parts from the 90 and 91 trucks
just now found out about the 8" frames...lol
I did use the fuel tanks from both trucks/ cross members, drive shafts and the Club cab firewall on the 73 (gas) crew cab
