I posted a question in another forum. My truck won't go into 4x4. I need to troubleshoot the vacuum lines/CAD etc.

We're in a blizzard at the moment and I need to get the truck into 4x4 and leave it there for safety reason. Anyone have a safe/solid method to hardwire my truck into 4x4 until I can fix my vacuum or t-case issues?

My t-case shifts fine by the way; in and out of 4L-4H. No pull on the axle. I'm 99% sure if I could engage the CAD I'd be on my way.

Thanks in advance. ERic

EGILLILAND, on 95 non electric no wires needed. Try pulling vacuum line off CAD (axle dissconect to see if you have vacuum. You can also switch the vacuum lines around to see if that will engage the axle (the 4wd light switch is located in the CAD. )

You can run a vacuum line from the vacuum connection near the intake manifold to the cad.

The vacuum line going into passenger firewall can be burned by exhaust manifold, but this would mess up other vacuum operated components.
