I noticed the wire was frayed on my plug, the one that is mounted on the frame. This plug connects the axle switch wire to the main front end wiring under the radiator. I found the same plug inside the left tail light area (seen when the tail light was removed) of an intrepid or LHS (don't remember), so snip and away I went... color code is not the same, but who cares. Went to remove the bad plug and splice in the replacement with the soldering iron & heat shrink, etc. only to find when stripping the wire coming out of the main harness alowed ALL the strands of wire to pull out of the jacket. Yes I had found a break about 3" upstream. Had to open up the plastic tubing back enough to get before the break. I now have a working 4x4 light, even with out a switch or LED in the dash change. The most important thing here is were I found the plug, incase you need one.
