The Posi-Loc kit is your best/most reliable choice. It uses a cable to replace the problem some vacuum actuator. Super simple and works great. The only thing better is manual hubs.

I installed one of these in my '98 and am very happy with it. Previously I used one of the vacuum switch setups (BD I think) in my '96 and while it worked fine if I had to do it again I'd have used the posi loc (like I did the second time). The posi lock kit replaces some of the problem prone parts such as the vac. switch on the transfer case, vac. lines that are prone to leaking and the vac. solenoid on the CAD that gets leaky and fails.
True dat!. My gas pot wheelin rig ( '94 1500 4x4) has had one for 8 years. I actually tried it out with a SPOOLED front diff, with some success . But the 2wd low feature is definately worth it. I'll be converting the "94 2500 TDR very soon.
