Trouble codes P0837 P0838 P0839 with the 4X4 light flashing when placed in 4WD. How would I attempt to repair this? The dealer, along with dodge engineers are not able to repair this. They have changed the shift motor, still the same. They tell me it goes in and out of 4WD. Any help Thanks

Sounds like a problem with the shift indicator switch. Did they replace that? What year truck is it? I find it hard to believe they simply "can't repair it". Is it under warranty?

4X4 trouble

It is an 03 ram 3500 srw diesel. I do believe they tried it. We are now on the second week at the repair shop. It has 167,000 miles.

They had my truck for 2 weeks. They said detroit dodge has not given them help on solving problem with wiring. I do have a reciept that states it from the dealer. They went so even as to try redoing computer. Now I get P0700 code, transmission. Any help

Are you only getting P0700 now, or are the other codes still there too?

Is this truck completely off-the-assembly-line bone stock, or have you messed with any of the wiring?

Ryan

Truck is completely stock. Code P0839 is also displayed. I did find the passenger wheel hub bad, which I replaced. Hopefully that will clear that code,

I am not sure if they replaced the mode sensor. They gave up, charged me nothing. I have to purchase a new code reader to erase code and try again.

At this point I'd find out if they replaced the mode sensor. If they didn't, I'd suspect that as the culprit.

If 4wd works, that's good. The dash light is just annoying.
